Rhonda Carter, MSN, APRN-CNP, PMHNP-BC
Rhonda Carter, MSN, APRN-CNP, PMHNP-BC, is an ANCC board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with expertise in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, addiction and co-occurring disorders, and recovery-focused care. She evaluates the full clinical picture—psychiatric symptoms, medical history, medications, substance use, trauma, sleep, safety, culture, daily responsibilities and previous treatment—to develop care that is clinically sound, clearly explained and centered on the individual.
Her clinical experience includes mental and behavioral health, addiction treatment, detoxification and residential settings, medication-assisted treatment, recovery stabilization, complex care transitions and interdisciplinary coordination. This range gives her a strong understanding of what patients need at assessment, during treatment and after they return to everyday life.
Across more than 15 years in healthcare, Rhonda’s perspective has been shaped through direct bedside care and progressive clinical leadership, including service as a Director of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer. Her executive experience strengthened her ability to recognize clinical risk, coordinate complex treatment, lead multidisciplinary systems and maintain high standards of safety, accountability and patient care.
As founder of Carter Health Group, Rhonda provides thoughtful, evidence-informed care with the clinical depth to address complicated histories and the judgment to recognize when a different service or level of care is needed. She created Carter to deliver what healthcare too often separates: serious psychiatric care, addiction expertise, recovery continuity, cultural awareness and one connected plan built around the whole person.
